I’m glad I wasn’t clever enough to go there, I have enough social hangups as it is

Massively depends.

I once recently said to the waiter “this avocado salad didn’t have any avocado in it” and they just went “oh well” and it was an expensive shit salad and I should have kicked up more about it and refused to pay for it but I didn’t and had to throw about £8 on some leaves and toms.

Why should you feel embarrassed for somebody doing a job?

It’s not ideal but it’s better than dripping your snot into the lime pickle.

not making a thing out of this but you really shouldn’t complain when stuff like this happens

Yes I should. You offered me an avocado salad. I ordered an avocado salad. Where’s the fucking avocado?!

maybe they forgot?

really depends. if i’ve ordered a plate of lasagne and they bring me an orange, i’ll probably have a quiet word with the server.

How can you forget the main ingredient thats literally in the name?

If you ordered a coke somewhere and they gave you a lemonade, would you just drink the lemonade?

I think I make a little judgement in all these kind of situations:

coke change for lemonade - not too bad, won’t take them long to swap can have a little joke.

Getting angry at someone about your food being wrong means they probably get in trouble, have to remake the food, somebody has a shit day.

You’ve got some sort of discount on the meal

  • Tip based on full price
  • Tip based on price paid
  • Tip based on level of service
  • Some ol’ codswallop about restaurants paying a fair wage and shop staff not being tipped.

might be willing to accept it if you turn away a bit to do it, even though it makes no real difference it just seems slightly more courteous

stealing an additional piece of bread at the table without asking if people aren’t really going for it and you’re really hungry

Not sure why I’m the one who has to have a shit day and waste money cause someone who’s job it is to make me an avocado salad couldn’t be bothered to put avocado in it? Then when told theres no avo in it, they just said “oh well” and left me with a non avocado salad for the price of an avocado salad.

I have clicked ‘not fine’ but this doesn’t mean I won’t do it anyway
