Elden Ring (Part 1)

Huh? Levelling your health bar does not mean you can’t also level your weapons

That’s not what I’m saying. My view (and it’s just my opinion informed a bit by reading some guides) is that it’s worth being around 40 vigor when in the 60s with a well upgraded weapon rather than worrying too much about pumping other stats. Obviously scaling is important but not much point being able to put out loads of damage is you can get one shotted, and the benefit you get from weapon levels is greater than what you get from stats and scaling (although these are important too).

Maybe it’s more my play style where I want to be able to take a bit of damage

I didn’t realise you can perform a crit on someone who’s just fallen off their horse

Another tip for M: you can interrupt her attacks when little sparks fly from her hilt.

2 months. 110 hours. That’s almost three working weeks worth of play. But at last, I am Elden Lord.

What a game. An all timer for sure and in the conversation for GOAT, if maybe not my personal one. Think it pips BotW for me.

The opening 20 hours up to Stormveil and Godrick is basically perfect and then it is merely very very good.

Might go and respec in to faith and arcane and have a little dick about on NG+ with the toys I didn’t get to use, but broadly speaking I’m done with it for at least 5+ years.

Quite excited to return to all the books and telly I’ve ignored for 2 months.

Took a day off from Elden Ringing to do some jobs around the house, but it keeps trying to lure me back in…

(Paint lid btw, I didn’t do it on purpose!)

Any good podcasts about Elden Ring? Particularly interested in ones who have compelted the game.

The Besties did a recent episode on Elden Ring after 2 out of the three had completed it so it was covering all of the game and full of spoilers.

So I’m finding egbert brace of the Holly Tree pretty darn tough (I’ve just found an ulcerated tree spirit that lives in a pool of scarlet rot. Sigh ) so i decided to go on a trip down memory lane and revisit a lot of the places that i noped out of weeks ago now I’m a higher level.

My shit list included…

A couple of Hero’s Graves ( did not realise that those chariots aren’t an insta kill, you can survive a hit if you’ve got enough hp! )

The ulcerated tree Chap on mt gelnir

The big evil bird thing that lives in the snowy bit at the top.

A dragon on a bridge, i forget where exactly

And finally, at long last and after many many attempts… ring leader evergaol! Thank fuck! I hope the ashes of war i got is worth it!

A productive day!

It’s the best one in the game. There’ll be times when the Mimic is more appropriate, but this one was my go to after I picked it up. Get it to +10 asap!
