I reckon I would have got thatt except for the fact that bonny village seemed really like recycled content so I just couldn’t be arsed and grabbed the power ups and rode through. If I’d have found the gesture I reckon I would have got the puzzle. Annoying that such an important thing was hidden there but that area did seem pretty crap, as well as the land of 10,000 dogs in the north east which was pretty uninspired.
I did find the gesture just from exploring and the weird placing made me assume it was a part of some stupid ‘quest’ but I would have never have figured out what to do with it on my own
there is a dev message next to the statue there that says something relevant isn’t there? found that there were a lot of those actually, more than i can remember in any other souls game or the base game. like near the frenzy guys basically all but telling you what to do. seemed unusual for them. i think i guessed it was a gesture and tried all the new ones i had.
says something about showing mercy. At least with the Liurnia puzzle of the same type they put the gesture name directly in the hint.
I see the point about trying all the new gestures and I also agree it was hidden in a very boring part of the game
Last boss finally down with a tank build, thanks to suggestions above. No idea how you’d do it otherwise, 2nd phase is just silly. Prob one of my least fave bosses in the DLC/series full stop to play against but hey, it’s over!
Going to give DS2 a whirl now, not done that one yet
finally, a real game
Love it when you know a boss’s moveset and can completely anticipate them. Then all that stands between you and victory is a little thing called never fucking up once!
I dunno if you’re still on MtI but I found this really helpful for roll timings - particularly his hyper thrust and spinny move
Got him in the end but thanks! Really ended up loving that fight as well. Wonder how Malenia will feel when I eventually get to her after all that. No doubt I’ll still get destroyed but I think it was good practice!
pretty hilarious strat for beating final boss here.
I always think this and then remember the 2nd phase is no joke. Her resistances go through the roof and is not easily staggered. Plus I still don’t really know how to roll through the waterfowl or clone attacks without a serious headstart- still makes my hands sweat. In saying that she’s still my favourite boss in the extended game and I will always pay her a visit no matter how much of a ball ache it is getting there
Finally Malenia down, it’s a dead end isn’t it, where now (main game)?
I’ve fucked up? Already burnt the tree, has this messed things up?
Don’t you just go through it or something? To the last boss(es)?
There’s the room next door with the big dormant plant in, the lift there takes me to the pre M bit, can’t get further up from that lift as the troll thing on the bridge is magic killing me quickly from distance.
Where’s the bit where you fight Godrick? If that’s his name! Is that back in Leyndell? If that’s its name! Sure it’s past him. You fight some golden guy on the way up to him.
Godrick as in just past the 1st main Castle?
I have worked this out and am at the final boss, who I am not fighting.
DLC time now.
I managed to get the final DLC boss down without respeccing (I’m at around 60 dexterity and 50 intelligence, the new katanas were pretty rad) which was good because I was out of Larval Tears and I’ll be fucked if I was gonna go hunting for them at that point. like the time I beat Malenia it felt like a fluke, like they forgot to do that one thing they do once after hours and hours of slamming my face into the dirt and it just about gave me the edge
Still, a wins a win
Sorry, I get completely confused about the names! You haven’t played any of the DLC yet? Intrigued to see what you think!
