I’m not trying to make a case for you leaving, just mentioning that some things are changing a bit and not for the better imo. I’m still on there as it stands but I guess I’ll see how that goes over the next while.

I don’t think the changes have properly kicked in at all yet though. Non-verified user’s replies being buried and things like that

I know nothing about that film except it looked very very much not my thing.
I know the phrase “Explain it like I’m Xxx” although I’m more familiar with ‘a child’ as the closing.
I don’t like it.
But I most specifically don’t like that abbreviation or it becoming ‘a thing’ on threads here 
In our house, we used to blame the Tooty Bum Bandit for times when The Child had farted but wouldn’t admit it.

A lot of the changes may well either never happen or get put back to how they were very quickly, so there’s little point quitting in advance over them!

But… What’s the harm in trying? I think that’s part of the fun with ELI5 (sorry), seeing how people try to simplify the answer down, in spite of how complex it is.
I’ve often thought about starting a general ELI5 (sorry) thread here, if anything a safe space to ask random questions and get hopefully helpful, reasonably simple explanations of things. Would that be a bad thing, with or without the acronym?
