ridding one disease from a planet and sending a few people to the comparitive to habitable planets extremely nearby moon and successfully having mankind survive and populate on a distant planet are surely orders of magnitude different in terms of difficulty

here’s some questions I would have before believing this:

. have we found a habitable planet yet?
. can we conceive of generating enough energy sustainably to do this?
. who is going to get chosen?
. what happened to 99% of people who don’t get to go?
. what happens if the first attempt is a failure? is there a contingency?

Just your yearly reminder that space colonisation is almost certainly not a noble pursuit and will most likely end up in ethnic cleansing on an interplanetary level (because rich white people will leave all the non-whites and poor to burn on Earth)
