So, Hackney North CLP are being called out for passing a tone deaf amendment on A/S last night. Much I actually agree with in it, but in failing to acknowledge Labour’s failings as well as defending them it seems hugely unhelpful to me.

Rake-stepping appears to be a full-time job for Labour members.

Sorry anti-Simpsons memers…

Was dumb enough to watch some of Question Time last night. Barry Gardiner fielding 20 minutes of anti-semitism accusations. Really starting to think that this will impact Labour electorally. Anything he said was picked apart, the Lib Dem even tried to accuse him of calling it a “media conspiracy”, which he didn’t do.

There would be a very easy tap-in linking this to the behaviour of >90% of posters on a certain indie music forum, but it’s a bit low hanging fruit

Shall I compare thee to the Labour Party?
Or a forum of indie pricks - Epimer’s quite farty…

Fucking hell they actually went the full “BUT IRAQ”. Absolutely ridiculous.

(Nothing wrong with putting Labour and anti-semitism in its full context, that’s fine, but come on)

I’m very glad I was at the pub during QT so I wasn’t tempted. My head hurts like hell this morning but that’s nothing compared to the active pain watching QT causes to anyone who fires on all cylinders.

Not sure QT is necessarily the best representation of how an election campaign would play out - wasn’t the one where gammons were fuming that Jeremy Corbyn wouldn’t launch a nuclear strike before the last election? Or maybe it was after, I lose track of the stupidity by now

The special one-candidate at a time “debate” was where Corbyn was heckled by the wall of gammons until that champion lass commented that she’s worried by all the people so cheerful for mass murder and the room laughed and the gammons started developing pineapple ring halos from rage.

Sure, but it’s interesting as a small spot reading of where people are at. 20 minutes on Labour antisemitism, barely any mention of right-wing racism (and zero mention of Islamophobia in Tory party - not trying to “whatabout” the problem of AS, but I think there is a larger issues of bigotry in our country that need to be addressed), it was the main topic after Brexit and bigger than climate change.

The absolute worst kind - one with 14 syllables in the second line.

I’m not ranking different kinds of prejudice, I’m saying all forms of bigotry have to be tackled in every way possible, and ousting antisemitism within Labour is absolutely crucial in that.

Anti Semitic people are not going to go away if/once they’re expelled from the Labour Party either, what is it in society that is causing these people to behave and think this way and what is the best way of dealing with this?

Not going to help in most cases

As a half Jewish (though admittedly not religious of any sort) person the thing that really freaks me out is for all the attention Labour Antisemitism gets the right wing Antisemitism from the people who might actually want to murder me for something my grandparents believed in is getting pretty ignored.
