End of year awards DiS Musicians.

You know who did the best work this year?

You did.

You might be thinking ‘but I only finished 2 songs, and nobody listened to them’, but who else would have finished those 2 amazing songs? And how many listeners is enough, anyway? They’re just ears after all.

You made incredible art, and you won.

Congratulations!

Thanks so much (I haven’t shared anything original in 5-6 years and have only just started making stuff again)

Deep down I always knew I could become an award winning fiddle player if I put 4 weeks of effort in. Thank you everyone.

Who else but you could tirelessly fiddle for 4 weeks and produce such wondrously unique results?

If I’d finished even two songs I might be thinking that! But I have recorded more guitar bits in my voice notes than any other year

The awards panel doesn’t make mistakes; your guitar voice notes are absolutely consistent in their outstanding qualities. You won!

I think my band actually managed to finish off four this year! Though we started a few of them at least two years ago. Thanks anyway!

It appears that (contrary to my post above) the awards panel has made a mistake; your FOUR completed songs are exceptional in every conceivable way, hence your victory! You won!

As you say; the award is concrete evidence that you are the greatest! Why else would you be awarded the award? You won!

Tbf having heard your contribution to the next WEPN release, you aren’t far off the mark here. Is at least in contention for my top ten of the year. Or next year, when I get around to actually releasing the thing

Well hell I didn’t see that coming! Thank you man - really pleased you like that one, especially since I mastered it myself. I’ve still no idea what I’m doing there - I just trial and errored it until I didn’t hate it.

It’s gonna be a great release once it’s done - looking forward to listening through your sequencing! It seems like madness to be optimistic in the current climate but for some reason I feel like 2024 is gonna be a great year.

Never had much in the way of wins, so I will happily take this one for the record I made about being autistic in the time of the anthropocene :trophy:

Given how fiercely fought the category for LPs about being autistic in the time of the anthropocene traditionally is, it is all the more impressive that not only did your LP about being autistic in the time of the anthropocene win this year, but the award panel unanimously declared it the All Time Definitive LP about being autistic in the time of the anthropocene.

You WON!
