Nope, still too early to do AOTY lists.

What about in the monthlies’ December issues? Mojo and Uncut are out, though I haven’t seen either list.

Speak of the devil.

13 of those will be in my top 100

Uncut’s full list of 80 albums is here:

Refuse to believe anyone is even done listening to all the October releases yet.

Never too early for end of year lists IMO. Best time of the year.

I’m still working my way through the albums of 2024 lists

Reckon it’s fine doing it now as long as you include Nov-Dec from last year

Your annual reminder that ‘You’re Living All Over Me’ was released on December 14th and that’s why you shouldn’t go too early with your list.

I’ve probably said this before but we’re Christmas a month later, January would suck less. It would also help November albums get they’re piece of the pie, because if there’s something I’ve known about November albums it’s that they really would like pie.

Is there a list of the 100 Greatest Albums Released In December somewhere?

I expect I would put You’re Living All Over Me at number 1.

Nope, shouldn’t be doing AOTY lists until it’s actually EOTY.

They’re fine. They shouldn’t be top of any list beyond maybe “old British rock bands still recording” which, TBF, may be what uncut (featuring a Beatles cover on the issue I see) and mojo actually are.

So was The Cure’s album in 2024…but it also got far too much praise in the end of year lists

Even as a fan of Viagra Boys, I thought their album this year was patchier than Cave World. (It was Rough Trade’s Number 1)

Always nice to see them get recognition, however. Can’t see many other publications ranking it that highly tbh.
