Saka at his peak would’ve been awesome, he kept getting the ball in good positions. Great cross and defensive work, but he’s a shadow of his former self
That shadow has still managed 3 assists in his appearances so far, which is pretty good going!

I’m doing that thing where I’m picking niggly faults with our efforts so far rather than just being happy with all the good stuff.
Today’s offering, only one other player has scored a goal for England outside of Jude/Harry…and that was Rashford’s in the game against Croatia (which we were were already winning). Would just like to see a few more in on the act, but it’s also not a terrible issue to have two attackers bang in form

obviously nowhere near peak but getting better in each game. I think I’d start Madueke for 60 minutes, let him tire their full back, and bring Saka on for 30 minutes to exploit any gaps
He was great coming in late against Croatia, do that again, impact sub.
One of his last jobs in office is to irretrievably jinx us against Norway.

How many other red cards have had extended bans this World Cup? Am I right to think this is a bit harsh? Feels like it’s tipped over from “fair enough” to “now wait a second” but could just be being a bit tin-hat. Absolutely not disagreeing that it was a bad tackle and a definite red…
Just in case it’s not clear, I’m talking about Quansah’s ban being extended to two games. There’s absolutely no chance I’m caring about it that much if Reece James was somehow fit.
