It’s really solid. It’s almost a mini LP - 8 songs, 30 minutes - so not much room for filler. Definitely recommended for Gibbs fans

and 1996 :fire:

Yeah 96 was great.

It’s funny - listening to those mixes does make you reassess. I’d always considered 98,99,00 as the doldrums mainly 'cos of the jiggy explosion but you forget how much other interesting stuff came out then too.

Hello mate, with Kendrick i am 100% agree, like his music very much! Still enjoy it!

Some slightly cringey political uk hip-hop - is there any other kind?

Jiggy stuff was fun! but i realize im a weirdo that likes both. I have so many personal classic in that 97-99 span. I was buying ridiculous amounts of music.

Well, that was also the time of loads of great indie stuff and got me digging for weird Wu Tang offshoot material which in a way was a by-product of the jiggy stuff. I was also buying a lot of music then - had started at university so had a grant, loan and part time job so had money to waste for the first time in my life.

Was a great time - you could always find something to your taste if you dug around enough. Same is still true today.

Aye, obviously alongside, and in reaction to the bling era, 99/00 was the absolute peak for alternative/indie hip hop. Plenty of great music on both sides.
