Ethel Cain

This might be controversial but the show could’ve been all seated and still hit really hard. I think there was only one stopped song at the one I went to, considerate Manchester night 1 fans waited until the end of a song to drop.

Yeah the impression I got was that it’s just certain fans wanting to be at the front for the entire set, I was reading that on a different forum they were asking security to pass them water so presumably they aren’t going to the bar etc and you already can’t take bottles in.

I always do soft anyway because I freaked myself out in the mirror when I was about 13 thinking that I look absolutely fucked up when I do locked, so I just never do it. And now my friends are like “oh you should really look into getting a diagnosis for OCD” so I can pass out during Onanist? No thank you!

reddit said it was even people at the back of the crowd doing that, trying to wave to security rather than just turn round and get it themselves

maybe we need to create a gig-going leaflet or something, mandatory reading in school

Only one person that fainted last night was near the front and likely to be queueing all day. The others were scattered throughout the venue. It wasn’t that warm and it wasn’t that tightly packed. There’s a reddit thread with a post from someone who claimed to have fainted last night and it seemed like there’s not much they could have done differently.

As frustrating as it can be I wouldn’t put me off attending the show. Thought the material translated unbelievably well to the live setting.

I’m thinking all the artists prone to fainting audiences get together for a big charity single.

I like that Millennials are always exasperatedly saying things like this now, as if we were all turning up to Hadouken gigs with impeccable etiquette back in the day.

though in my one attempt at Uni Indie Soc I did have to usher someone who’d done red wine vomit from their seat to the bathroom during a fucking Withered Hand solo folk gig, so the more things change the more they stay the same

It’s a lie tbh, I loved Hadouken sincerely and with all my heart.

At the end of a gig in 2008 there would always been random shoes lying around on the floor, and people going round asking if anyone had seen their shoe, but none of the lonely floor shoes were ever the right one. What an era

Really should just normalize crowdsurfing the fainters to medical in the back, no stoppage needed.

Bring it back, nu-nu rave?

Oh yeah I’ve not seen a big puke at a gig in well over a decade. Well done gen z for just slipping out of consciousness instead

very demure, very respectful
