EU based sites delivering to the UK with cheap goods?

I’ve been looking for a climbing harness for G for christmas and the UK sites are all around £50 but there’s a handful of sites that seem to do the same thing for more like £35

e.g. https://www.inwild.co.uk/ https://rope-master.com/ https://www.glisshop.co.uk/

they all talk about customs charges etc.

Are they legit sites? Am I gonna get scammed / delayed receiving stuff? Will there be big charges - I can’t seem to find what these might actually be.

On balance I’m thinking with PPE it’s better to buy totally legit from a local shop but does anyone have any insight / experience with these things?

Dunno specifics but these sites seem legit. I’ve posted a few things recently from Sweden to my aunt and it’s taken 5-7 days so not loads. Customs charges from the EU are a crapshoot - can totally depend, it seems. It’s near impossible to find out what the charges will be and I think that’s intentional tbh. Often you don’t find out until you get the bill. Also, returns could be a nightmare if you have to return for whatever reason, you could get stung again.

Ultimately it would probably be fine tbh, but if you want certainty I’d stick with the higher prices in the UK and take the hit for that certainty.

At work we’ve had some nightmares importing materials post Brexit. If it was a fiver I’d say go for it and take a chance - if you get hit with customs duty your £35 piece of kit will soon be £50 like the UK sellers.

Glisshop is definitely legit

(Not to say the others aren’t, but I know that glisshop is)
