Having 32 teams just opens up more possibilities for fun shock results too. Let the riff raff in, 2 teams per group, done.

Getting quite pumped already. Just a privilege to be able to convincingly upset Italy at home.
16 is optimum but itโs never gonna happen, and itโs quite nice seeing fans of North Macedonia et al get to experience a tournament - would be even better in a proper one in normal circumstances.
Suppose 32 would likely make the group stage fairly boring/redundant with all the big sides kept apart and strolling through.
Either massively preferable to this third-placed crap tbh.

It would be funny if all the mediocre teams playing for four points meant everyone in third got four points and two of them went out anyway, but I get the sense weโll get at least one third placed team on 2-3 points

Another downside to the competition getting bigger and bigger is that it further limits which countries are able to host in future.

Honestly think it should be a 32 team knockout tournament with no seeding and the only group stage should be when the last 4 play each other. Potential double final, almost guaranteed some kind of a wildcard among those semi finalists and a much bigger incentive to win in every single game
