Think it was more the top tickets - and it’s possible there were reductions after slow sales. Can’t remember exactly, but it was said.
Personally, the Euros is my favourite championship, but can understand that people want to see the absolute best.

What a night last night!
One of the most thrilling ends to a race ever in the 100m hurdles - and so pleased for Visser to finally get an outdoor gold.
Then Glave and Azu first and second in the 100m.
Great long jump and hammer too - superb all round.
Nothing down this end of town (Ladywood/Westside), even though the hotels on Broad Street have official championship pick-up markers on them. Passed the Dutch and Italian teams a few times in the last week or so.
General costs aside, for anyone coming from further away, going up to Perry Barr for the evening sessions and then getting back for the last trains to other cities is going to be a headache, with or without potential heatstroke.
I know this is a boring, obvious take but decathletes running 10.69 in the 100m is absolutely insane.
Not boring at all, Damian Warner has done 10:12 within the decathlon before which, up until very recently, would probably comfortably qualify you for the olympic final.
Yep, exactly why I didn’t bother going at that price due to being able to get back to Worcester after requiring leaving before the end. Whilst the shuttle bus was good at the commonwealth (pretty sure it was free then) there was still a wait.
Plus as you say the affordable seats offer no shade at all.
It’s a wonderful sport to see live, but seats do impact the experience if it isn’t a packed out with a good atmosphere.
Just tried to find a schedule of what’s on when on the BBC website, and it took some doing.
I found it:
7pm - 45 minute chat about British athletes and footage from yesterday
7:45pm - Some races
8pm - 45 minute chat about how the pundits are glad they’re retired
9pm - Some races
9:15pm - Analysis of something that hasn’t happened
9:45pm - A couple of finals
Quite glad I have TNT. I prefer hearing Crammy, but I like to watch the field finals and you just can’t on BBC.
The 7-8pm section had 11 mins of action.
Hudson Smith is apparently the most decorated male athlete of all time at the euros. Wild.
I love Matt Hudson Smith ![]()
Conflicted here as part of me wants the final to be a big showdown, but I also think that if Werro is going to leg herself up and finish 8th, she shouldn’t be in the final.
Please someone fix the camera angles
Loved how he knew exactly how to open the gate to his own stand ![]()
Can’t get my head around Werro being put through to the final despite falling over. Seems so unfair on everyone who managed to not fall over? Absolutely wild she’ll end up winning.
This camera angle is so shit and makes me feel a little queasy watching it.
Watched last night’s events today on catch up and as everyone has said the amount of pre-recorded bits and repeats of British athletes is wild.
Who is winning the woman’s 800m??
Should be a cracker of a race!
Keeley is obviously phenomenal but I just love watching Femke Bol…the most elegant runner I’ve ever seen
Wtf are they playing at with that camera angle? Absolutely ruined the race
Here to join to the camera angle petition.
Tamberi = lovely stuff.
Let the “Hodgkinson was never really any good” comments commence.
