Last year was so spectacularly unsavoury it’s sadly going to be incredibly eas to boycott again.
Yeah, I love Basel so would be interested to see how they do the show, and really would enjoy seeing the Malta entry performed, the reception, and hopefully win, but alas - another year where I swerve.

Sweden will not win. It’s not anti-eurovision enough to be the alt vote & it’s not Eurovision enough to be a genuine vote, not novelty enough to be a novelty vote either
Catchy as fuck though. Might get a bunch of 10s & 8s I suppose
It’ll definitely be up there, and will probably win the popular vote. We’ll see how it does with the juries.

Just seen that Albania’s artist this year is the one I chose for the DiS Eurovision a few years back! I genuinely really liked the song I chose, will find out if I like their real life entry on Saturday.

CW: Assualt/violence against women/domestic abuse
A few weeks ago his wife posted on social media about his cocaine abuse and aggressive outbursts and him hitting her & having constant affairs. She deleted the posts but there was a police report, a court hearing and now she is divorcing him. His PR team have been full on trying to revive his image, place puff pieces in the national media etc. which has led to something of a secondary scandal and today he has cancelled all his upcoming tour dates in Sweden & Germany. He is toast and the word on the street is that there is worse to come

An unbelievable amount of Polis being shipped in from other cantons since last Friday. Never seen so many of them around town.
Even during the OECD meeting a few years ago when I almost cycled into a tank on the way home from the pub.

Yeah totally failed this bit, I’m afraid. Got sucked back in and just back from a 48 hr whirlwind in Basel. Went to the live semi last night, not the best musically at all but the whole town was absolutely buzzing. Absolutely could not finance a week there and wanted to get out before youknowwho stank up the place anyway.
Not convinced Sweden are winning it. Don’t think juries are going to bite.
Going to bed now as I’ve barely slept since Monday.

Was disappointed that Slovenia and Belgium didn’t get through last night.
How the hell did Portugal get through? What a dirge that was. Albania was totally tuneless, wasn’t quirky enough to win me over either.
