no idea but I don’t think I’m willing to try. Onion can be nice in things but not if I see or have to deal with the pieces.

When I was a kid I’d go through phases of only liking one thing, merengue nests, microwave sausage rolls, until I’d get sick of them and move on to my next discovery

yeah I hear you, I wasn’t really thinking of childhood as I get the feeling all kids might be weird, I’m sure I had weird food phases like only eating lemon curd sandwiches every day for about 5 years

Supposedly used to LOVE cucumber when I was a nipper.

Absolutely fucking detest the stuff these days. One of just a handful of things I won’t eat.

Ruiner of sandwiches

ate some bad smoked haddock out of the bins from the co-op about 10 years ago and struggle a bit with smoked fish in general now. love smoked salmon, but it has to be lightly smoked.

Cucumber is nice if you cut it fresh yourself, can’t see how it would work in a soggy sad storebought sandwich though

Don’t think I’ve ever stopped liking a food, but here are a few things I don’t really eat any more (just because time moves on, or because I was served them as a child and haven’t bothered buying them for myself as an adult):

  • salad cream
  • Findus crispy pancakes
  • those Blue Dragon / Amoy Chinese sauce sachets
  • jelly
  • Neopolitan ice cream
  • Skips
  • Lemon Tango

man I’m sorry you were in a situation where you had to do that :frowning:

Ah what a shame. I’ll never make you my potato salad

that’s ok, I’m sure you have plenty of people to share your potato salad with!

Yeah loads I think.

Eggs are a weird one, fine with them most of the time but then will go off them totally for months, then find I’m ok with them again.

its a good idea with loads of food that have just gone out of date tbh. some supermarkets don’t lock up bins at night and you can basically do the big shop like that if you’re happy to eat a lot of the same thing.

just maybe not fish…

oh yeah that’s true for me too!

Can’t really stand eggs right now, there’s something really pongy and stale about them. Eugh egg

are they still in the packaging etc?

Not a food but the English staple that is tea. Apparently I loved it up until the age of 4. Can’t stand the stuff. That, and coffee. Don’t do hot drinks.

yeah, just in big sacks.

obviously it kind of sucks but better than not eating! only had to really do it when I was a student tho.

and a bit after but that was more of a choice thing.

I don’t know when I started drinking tea, figured I always drank it but under 4 seems young.

What age did everybody here start drinking tea???

I had pictured like a food waste bin with sloppy fish and rotten veg and stuff in it
