“I believe there was also some existential ennui near the dugout. French fans need to chill.”
literally never heard of Omar Sívori.
Rummenigge winning it twice over Platini and Breitner seems a bit off to me.
Matthias Sammer obvs.
Never heard of him. I’m probably a few years younger than you, though.
That Verona title’s bollocks anyway. It was the year they insisted on the random assigning of officials to clamp down on matchfixing, so hardly a fair playing field.
Best league in the world!
Even still, it was an achievement and he also rinsed it at international level for a while.
This isn’t a trustworthy stat. Lots of the Italian stadiums haven’t been renovated since the late 80s and capacities are innacurate now. Huge sections of some grounds are closed off. The only new or modernised grounds i can think of are in Turin, Udine and Genoa.
Mesut Özil
lol, the last time a player outside spain and germany was nominated for the ballon d’or was 2008.
also interesting how the list seems to follow the dominance of a particular league at the time. look at all the italians in the late 80s/90s
Citeh could really do some other championship teams a favour if they put like twenty past Wolves, really hamburglar them
and their 2nd team/youngsters are that good they easily could tbh… well not 20… but 5
Gonna be a toughie. They’ve done well against the decent sides they’ve faced this season.
San Siro?
There is a good reason why the average capacity of stadiums in Italy is higher, but you have failed to spot it I’m afraid.
Two teams per city!
Lost at home to Cardiff though obviously
doesn’t make a lot of sense, surely the only time they’d need the added space would be derby matches.
Interesting if a bit stating the obvious
also aguerooooo will probably play to top the goal scoring charts n that
Rijkaard was a decent manager IMO.
I’ve always liked Rijkaard. Love this OTT narrative of Mourinho as a Satanic figure from the Barca tradition who rebelled against God (Cruyff).
Oh you weren’t joking?
