I used to be a journalist, and the old-school subs in my office (and, I assume, other offices) called exclamation marks ‘dog’s cocks’.

I do it all the time to indicate multiplying together all the natural numbers less than or equal to a specified natural number.

My favourite punctuation mark that.

A colleague asked me if I had a problem with another colleague in a different building. It turned out that my emails were too formal in tone… So - use more exclamation marks!!!

I do allow myself the occasional contraction in internal emails. Y’know, to exude vast amounts of your “human warmth”.
