For me, paesano is a 6 or 7 and baffo is a high 8.

Did a glacier walk with my father in law in Iceland. Think it cost about £100 which made me a bit reluctant. They are usually done in groups of 8-10 but we were the only ones there so got a personalised tour of sorts, got to move faster and see loads more including an awesome ice tunnel.

Absolutely class. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hall and Oates live. Had no idea what to expect of them as a live act but they were fucking amazing (well Daryl was anyway. Oates did fuck all really)

Did he step outside for any period of time?

Saw Art Brut at Indietracks maybe like 10 years ago? I was expecting them to be ok, but they were actually brilliant.

Just went for a walk in the dunes to try and find some dune cattle. Saw 4 of them and also a woodpecker (not pictured)

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were very good live. Never really delved into them properly before that or even after but it was a nice memory.

wow do these folks just live out in the woods?

A 6 or 7? Respectfully, I can’t continue this conversation in good faith :stuck_out_tongue:

cannabis, most things in life are oversold, but this was so much more that I ever expected

(((this was pre skunk, with plenty of CBD to mitigate the sometimes bad effects of high THC of the more modern strains now currently available)))

sleeping outdoors in a wood or on hill is similarly much much more experiance bang for your buck than you can get elsewhere

Snorkeling was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. Specifically at a beach in the Philippines with green sea turtles, Absoutely incredible experience.

A weird one was always being grimly fascinated by Chernobyl, but never having any serious plans to go.When I went to Kiev a couple of years back, one of my friends pushed for us to take a day trip. Not a fun experience obviously, but absolutely fascinating and it stuck with llike nothing else I’ve seen. The sheer scale of the place and the amount of preserved hsiory is staggering.

listening to a song you like, thru headphones for the first time

I can remember my brother sticking headphones on me for the first time when I was like 6 or 7. Felt like the band were in the centre of my head, was totally mind blowing as a nipper.

Tom Waits. This seems daft when you consider how obviously great he is, but I’d only ever heard him described by other artists in interviews so I was like, “I’ll go pick up some of this Waits guy, see what it’s all about.” I got Used Songs first, and pretty much had to be swept up off the floor like a bunch of ash. I can’t think of much that’s ever moved me like that.

Oh yeah, expectation exceeded by a country mile. Think about the fact that the sorts of bands who were namechecking him around that time were the likes of Muse, and then you get hit by the raw bloody emotion of Tom Traubert’s Blues. Done, absolutely done, changed how I thought about music instantly.

Dune of Pilat - Wikipedia.
that is where we were quite a few years ago, camping at the foot of these dunes…What a climb but when you get to the top you can see for miles and miles…the view was minding blowing and then the decent.
