This show is far from perfect bit it’s thematic exploration of what it would mean to have that much power, of supremacy and race is head and shoulders above anything else Marvel has done I think.

Also Julia Louis Dreyfus whaaaat?

Was grinning like an idiot when she appeared on screen haha. Such a coup to get her.

When Zemo isn’t on screen all the other characters should be asking where he is.

they better have her dance with zemo otherwise what are we doing here

I absolutely love Julia L-D but it feels weird when the show frames a “reveal” around “look what famous actor we got”

Feels like something you’d see in a Chuck Lorre sitcom

Why would the Wakandans immediately turn their prisoner over to America lol

the political stuff is pretty good and kind of refreshing but it’s so slow paced and just hammers home every point, like god, just fight some fucking bad guys man

Am quite enjoying this. It’s my first taste of the Marvel world. Appreciate that I’m all to cock in terms of starting at the end. Watched the Capt America first film on the weekend, now planning to watch the full shindig in order. Apparently it’s Captain Marvel next?

I don’t find it boring but if it’s right that this Friday is the last episode it really seems to be lacking some actual substance to it. Just as WandaVision was a pleasant diversion to introduce Monica Rambeau as a new superhero and imply Vision would come back it’s a shame if this is just a long trudge to Sam picking up the shield while giving us Walker (who I’m informed by comics types like @xylo is ‘US Agent’).

At least it feels like the WV events will have to feed into the films but this one feels more like a closed loop so that the next big MCU film can star Sam and Bucky and if you didn’t see this it’ll just seamlessly run from the ending of Endgame.

Head piece on that costume is absolutely hideous.

Where were all the other avengers?

Obviously can’t be bothered with a rewatch but my gut instinct says that none of Sharon’s actions in the Madripor episode will make a lick of sense with that reveal of her being the power broker.

SPOILER my wife and i said during those episodes “if she turns out to be the power broker, fuck this, fuck them, and fuck all y’all”

Dunno why Zemo didn’t just get his butler to bomb everyone from the get go

I appreciate the faults expressed above but we were properly yelping when he first appeared in the new suit (and if we’re moaning about that why aren’t we focusing on those shoulder pads??) and when they called him Cap at the end. The action was proper movie-level badass; the speech was way too long but I get it and it kinda worked. Shame the whole thing ended back on that damn boatHope that won’t be a big feature going forward. We were pretty happy with that, ramped up nicely, as it had to frankly.

man that was pretty bad

it all just felt really underwritten, like none of the ideas were properly fleshed out, no ones motivations or plans were really clear, the action was shot terribly, sam’s speech at the end lasted about three fucking weeks and was just so sixth form politics, and his fucking ears poking out the sides of his hat, jesus christ

yeah massively agree. weird that in a 6 hour series you can have a finale that still feels really messy and rushed with a bunch of exposition and pointless CGI fight scenes. really disappointing.
