Chris “Captain Kirk” Pine used to live on the same road as the Brundell social club in Leeds when he was a exchange student. Alexander Skarsgard also went to Leeds Uni but got kicked out for partying to much. He was a big fan of the Otley run beer crawl!

There was a Vice article once about the Leeds noise rock scene and it made out that Rollins living here about 50 years ago made some impact on the scene happening now. I don’t think it did, tbh

Chrissy Hynde lived in South Queensferry (just along from the old Harry Ramsden’s) for a bit in the 80s. She was in a flat with Jim Kerr, right above Stephen Hendry.

Edwin Starr lived in a country pile outside Tamworth. Good for manor houses around there, I guess.

The iconic Hong Kong actor and pop star Leslie Cheung worked in Southend-on-Sea as a bartender and went to University of Leeds for a bit

Paul Jewell lived in Menston

you wouldn’t expect it cos he was managing Wigan at the time

I’d say David Gilmour in Brighton & Hove just because he’s built a fuckoff custom luxury house right in between a wildly popular ice cream shop and a leisure centre so it’s basically a tourist attraction

It’s taken him years of hassle to get it done too (source: my son is friends with the son of the owner of said ice cream shop)

When I was a kid there was a rumour that Gillian Anderson, at the height of her X-Files fame, was living in Walkington, a tiny village in east Yorkshire near where I lived. As improbable as it sounds, it does seem like there’s something to it, though the only online references are preserved in Google Group (?) conversations:

I had no idea what it was for ages, thought it must have been a converted mosque or temple turned into luxury flats or something.
