Famous people, mate.

I didn’t know Reggie & The Full Effect ever played any gigs?! I’ll have to get my Promotional Copy vinyl out now

I once spotted Matt Smith leaving a The Antlers show in L.A but I forgot who he was momentarily before blurting out “Doctor Who!”

At Matt Groening’s ATP I was really excited to see him wandering around by the main stage just before Deerhunter played. The Simpsons had been my favourite TV show since I was about 6 so this was a big deal for me. Saw he was talking to a small group of people so tried to politely (as polite as 10am drunk can be) jump in and ask for an autograph while the opportunity presented itself.

He looked at me with utter contempt, said “yeah you can join the queue though” and then pointed behind me to the line of about five hundred people who had been patiently waiting for him to sit down at the signing table I’d walked straight past.

Bonus embarrassment: The people he was talking to were the Boredoms and Zach Hill.

Never meet your heroes, you’ll only see what a prick you are reflected back at you.

I annoyed Kele Okerke by asking him if he’d like to join the Morning Runner mailing list at a gig. He huffed and said “I’m just here to see my friend’s band” and turned away. Tbf it was at a Morning Runner gig and I was just doing my duty as a committed member of the Morning Runner street team. (Kele wasn’t there to see Morning Runner.)

Mentioned this here before.

Simon Pegg. I wouldn’t let him jump a queue of children to go into a dinosaur exhibition aimed at under 12s. He had no kids with him, and tried to pull a “do you know who I am”.

disappointing behaviour from pegg, this. hope you dismissed him in such a way that he had to have a long, hard think about what he’d become

His sister accused me of being a troll on twitter and blocked me, just because we disagreed and pointed out that something she was saying missed the point and was also a false equivalence. I can’t remember exactly what it was either, but it ws very light hearted, respectful and tongue in cheek but she took serious umbrage.

Details! Did you have your Lalla Ward badge on?

You’re on the list for making me read through loads of posts to find out the stories behind your initial reply.

Literally the worst band ever, and I’m not joking.

He said to me “Do you know who I am” and I just replied “Yes”.

It wasn’t even like he couldn’t go in, if it was busy we’d just issue a ticket for an hour’s time and get people to come back. It was in the Natural History Museum, so it wasn’t like it was hard to find something to do in the time.

It was also just a nature trail type thing with some animatronic dinosaurs and fossil handling activities for the summer holidays. An adult was really not missing out on much.
