Don’t really understand how this would work for healthcare, schooling etc if you aren’t from the EU.

I looked into this and my wife said it was a non starter. I fancied buying a cheap house in Tenerife and working there from October to march every year. She said there’s some tax laws that prevent you earning money in the UK while living abroad. Could be wrong as I just took her word on it, she might have just been trying to stop me buying a cheap house in Tenerife

The problem is liability to pay tax in the country you’re based in. It varies per country, but you and/or your employer will be liable to pay income tax if you reside more than x days there. You also might be required to fill in a tax return in that country. You will also need to consider your employer’s obligations under local labour laws with respect to pension, minimum wage, holiday entitlement and healthcare.
