I think it looks like September, London, Saturday, afternoon/evening works with a picnic, some kind of craft activity in the afternoon, and then a pub in the evening. Will leave it a bit before making plans (unfortunately I don’t know what weekends I can do in September until the football fixtures are released in like 3 weeks :see_no_evil: ) but it sounds like a plan!

I know I can’t make the first weekend but in theory the others are doable if I have the £££

Anything is good for me but like to have toilet access so not super keen on parks!

We can check out tea and crafting and might be able to get a private booking. They do hen dos and stuff like that!

I agree on toilet access. I like the picnic idea if we can choose somewhere with toilets - if the weather is good enough for picnics!

Just posting it in here as well because I’ve left it a bit late for menless monday and don’t want a zero-replyer - I’ve just made a thread about make up as I’ve just bought some for the first time in ages. Any recommendations/advice gratefully received

@scout are you still using this or have you found a cheaper alternative?
Was talking to my hairdresser about wearing my hair curly and she said to just scrunch it up a bit when I get out of the shower and then let it dry naturally in the garden, no need for product, but I know it’ll be a bit frizzy and untamed if I don’t use some sort of oil thing…

If it’s frizzy then it probably needs moisture (weather at the mo doesn’t help either). I know the full Curly Girl thing can be a bit OTT so I’ve picked bits that work for me - shampoo once a week in silicone free shampoo (not supposed to use shampoo with CG but I prefer to feel super clean and co-washing can leave my hair feeling weighed down), condition and detangle, rinse out and squish and squish my hair with some more conditioner. Mine is wavy rather than curly so I’m supposed to fully rinse conditioner out but if it’s feeling dry I’ll leave some conditioner in. I sometimes squish some curl cream in when I get out the shower but usually just go straight to gel, just squishing all the time. Wrap in microfibre towel while I get dressed then if I have time I’ll diffuse on warm/medium power. If not I’ll just let it air dry and try not to touch it. Usually manage one wavy day before it gets on my nerves and I have to put it up out the way.

I’m still using it, think it’s going to last me a very long time!

Never met a hairdresser who didn’t think they knew how to manage curls/waves/frizz who hasn’t been 100% wrong.

That sentence doesn’t make any sense but I cant make it right.

This, so much! I have never left a hairdresser happy if I’ve let them dry it curly. I nearly always get them to straighten it because then I won’t want to tie it up as soon as I leave and wash it the minute I get home.

Although gnomey, I’d also say try out just using the boot scurl creme as it’s £2 and I’m sure the other week I didn’t fancy doing my whole routine so I just put the curl creme on and nothing else and it seemed quite healthy looking and not frizzy @Gnometorious

Ok, I might splash out on it then. I want to embrace my curls

Just googled boots curl creme and it looks like it’s been discontinued…

I just don’t understand it. I know they can be tricky and god knows I struggle myself but they’re job is hair, it drives me mad how having curls makes me feel like some sort of enigma.

I’ve had them defuse my hair with no product on and constantly raking at it with their fingers. I look like an extra from an 80s music video, or the other end of the spectrum, like someone’s granny. And I’ll say, oh no, it won’t work if you do x y z and they’re so confident I’m wrong!

I do the same as you - dry it straight, or leave it wet (which is the great thing about mobile hairdressers as you can instantly dry it yourself once they’ve gone)

WHAT THE FUCK

I know you can’t get it online anymore but I thought you could instore. That’s mad, it’s like a proper cult item. R&B from lush is a similar thing, I like that a lot, though they’re also on a discontinuing rampage at the moment.

Oh wait, no, sorry to panic you, on the website it says stock coming soon :slightly_smiling_face:

Idk, I just found a tweet where they confirmed it. My life is a series of finding great things and them immediately being discontinued

What about cantu curl activator? You only need a tiny amount and can emulsify with some water as it can be quite heavy

Sorry, one other top tip for frizz. Lube. Water based lube. I take the wrapper off the outside so no one knows what it is, ha, and use a small bit rubbed between my hands then smoothed over dry hair.

I have a problem like this with my fringe. It’s not how they cut it, although they don’t seem any better at that than I am, but how they style it is awful. I always get my hair cut on a Saturday so I can wash it again on the Sunday before anyone sees how bad it looks. I don’t understand how professionals can be so bad at it. They make it look greasy and always let it dry sticking up and then blow dry it sticking straight out over a round brush. I don’t want my fringe to stick out or be greasy! It’s not the 90s and I’m not 14 anymore!
