Yeah after doing English at uni I struggle even to motivate myself to read things I’d like to read! 2020 was the first year since 2015 that I read any fiction
Would love to if I wasn’t already in a book club (technically two book clubs but one is way more disorganised) and struggle to get one book read each month but I’d be up for joining a zoom call for a book I’ve already read!
Ah I went with some boring black tights and chub rub shorts tonstart with.next time I will branch out!
@Witches Books were the only thing I could think we could collectively do without huge financial input? I’m wondering if there’s anything else like we all meet one month and do some kind of painting or knitting or craft thing or talk about a film. Kind of need something to drive it before it descends into us just nattering (which is the end goal basically!! )
My friend set up a short-lived trash TV club last year which was great, we discussed Love Island one month and her work had been quiet so she came with a load of questions ranging from “who is the fittest” and “who has the worst fake tan” to “let’s discuss how Tommy Fury has been challenging the concept of toxic masculinity”
Definitely in for the girly chats. Happy to attempt a book club but with the huge caveat that I may not always have time to finish the book.
I’ve put a provisional yes but there is a chance I’ll fail at the first hurdle and not get round to reading the book. Hoping it will motivate me to read, because I enjoy it when I can actually make myself start
a film club might be easier as it can be done within a few hours? could use Teleparty to chat during the film and then have a Zoom call afterwards to discuss it in more detail! I’d definitely love to be involved in something
This sounds like a good idea! Could do a different thing every month, one month a film, then a tv show, then an album listen, a wine tasting etc
