No singles - just deep cuts
this has a subtly, microtonally off quality, like it’s still emanating from our old tape copy on our old yellow Alba stereo in our old house
Five - they just don’t get enough credit in my book. Really enjoyed the singles off that album. Nonsense, but enjoyable.
decent tune, used it in a zoom quiz recently. as a one hit wonder though surely it’s the polar opposite of a deep cut?
Written for Britney and rejected for being too weird (think she did Toxic instead), this absolutely bangs and somehow wasn’t a single
I know it was a single but had no idea how well it fared tbh. It has been an earworm of mine since the 90s. “Deep cut” as a fourth rate boyband rather than an obscure album track was my reasoning.
I’ve always had a lot of time for this song. It even has a decent, well used bit of modulation (the key-change ordinarily the vice of the melodically challenged/faithless).
