Favourite Eurovision entries

Feel like the boards are a bit frivolous about music sometimes, it’s all Radiohead this The National that. I think that Menless Monday is the perfect opportunity to discuss some real music for serious music fans.

What are some of your favourite Eurovision entries huns x

Excellent thread idea!

A couple of less remembered favourites:

I think Amandine Bourgeois was shafted by the draw in 2013. This is great, but not as the first song of the night:

I still very regularly listen to Dance Alone by Jana Burčeska. It didn’t make it past the semi-final:

Another banger that didn’t make it out of the semis

This one ticks all the boxes for me, the boxes being as follows:

:white_check_mark: Wind machine
:white_check_mark: Armography
:white_check_mark: Mirrorball Gumby
:white_check_mark: Breakdancing midget vampires (2)
:white_check_mark: Instrumental solo with obscure ethnic wind instrument
:white_check_mark: Key change before last chorus
:white_check_mark: Final note held for unnecessarily long count

This is my absolute fave btw

Think she got a lot of stick for the performance at the time but this is a great song.

Gina G was surprisingly house-y at it’s core, guess that’s a mid 90s thing isn’t it
