Favourite Instrumental Band?

Saw the full, live band version of Floating Points in the US a few years back, playing stuff off Elaenia plus Kuiper. Very good. Don’t know if the full band shows up the UK so often.

on a post rock perhaps less obvious shout, fond of…

rumah salit
oxes
sleeping people
saxon shore
enemies
drums and tuba
slow static
yndi halda
years of rice and salt
yume bitsu
paul newman - (the post rock band not saucey cool luke cassidy)
planning for burial
brontide
le reviel des tropiques
oisseaux tempete
colin stetson and sarah neufeld (and obvss most of the other stuff on constellation)
lemko hall
lichens
red stars theory
hammock

and I won’t go in to ambient modern classical drone from stars of the lid onwards, but i’ll mention the boats (the uk duo not the oz post rock outfit who aren’t bad either) perfect background bubbling away music for getting some thinking work done too.

obvious - tortoise, gastr del sol, do make say think etc etc.

Do Make Say Think

typo’d the first one there so…

also - Juno and Evpatoria Report.

The Re-Stoned. They have an album called Stories of the Astral Lizard that is incredible. Whenever i have no idea what i want to listen to, i’ll put that album on until i figure it out.
Other notable mentions are Circles around the Sun, Da Captain Trips, Arjun, The Gold and Silver Sessions album by Elder, and Nick Millevoi.
