I just read that, quite an eye-opening article, I actually had no idea European labour played such a large role in the Scottish workforce.

3 years ago my shitty Northern Irish ex made a snide comment about how he hoped there would be a hard Brexit so his Polish gf (who was actively looking for a job in Belfast so she could be with him…) wouldn’t be able to move to Northern Ireland.

I guess he got his wish, the absolute cunt.

[It took him another 3 MONTHS to end it after making this comment.]

The census data is pretty wild as well, peaked in 1971, wobbled up and down a lot in 81, 91 and 01, before shooting up above 71 in 2011 (which is the first after Poland etc joined)

1971 5,229,000
1981 5,035,000
1991c 5,083,000
2001 5,062,000
2011 5,295,000

Definition of brightest and best: people smart enough to want to live somewhere other than here.

Why do people only from shithole countries want to live here? Why does no one from better countries than us come immigrate to our shithole country?

I believe the economically inactive are the future
Teach them well and let then lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride, by encouraging them work in some of the shittiest jobs Blighty has to offer

One cannot live on cheese and football alone.

A universal truth

Yeah I feel like it was more incidental to the formation of that party. Without Brexit Berger might well have just gone independent as might anyone else who felt the AS issues were too much at the leadership’s door.

I don’t think there’s an industry in Scotland that hasn’t reacted with anger to that Tory immigration policy. So they’ve all gone to ground:

Said after the election this’d be the absentee government, Johnson just building on how he personally acted during it. Just don’t show up for shit. Go on holiday when half the country is underwater. What are they going to do, criticize you? If they dare take away their credentials so they also can’t show up, and the cameras roll on an empty room.

The result of an utterly moribund and compromised media.

Leopards, faces etc

fuuuuuuucking hell.

As awful as this whole thing is it was quite delightful seeing a revolving door of business owners saying “we might… have to pay… MORE??? for our staff? with less profit?”

They’ll find a loophole eventually but for now seeing them cry about it is the only thing keeping me going

Not even pretending to care about the people who will be affected by the policies, just the impact on their bottom line.

50 for me, because my job is a pointless make-weight that society could function perfectly well without.
