Watched Manchester by the Sea last night. Liked some stuff, but not everything. Thought it was at its best when it was doing pitch black comedy and didnt really get on with the misery porn or oscar bait stuff. 6.8/10

Watched The Lighthouse last night and loved it. Thought it could only ever be a disappointment after how much I loved The Witch. So beautiful to look at.

Something about Michelle Williams crying absolutely breaks me.

I can only conclude that you’re an absolute emotional husk of a man.

it was a bit

but probably fair

oh yeah the musical interludes weren’t really doing it for me, especially the fire, felt quite jarring imo.

Yeah, the score is really bad (I love the film though)

watched Beanpole last night, amazing film

Ooo nice, saw the trailer the other day, high on my list to see.

Voted other. Only Jan release I saw was David copperfield and I thought it was shite.

Will probably update once I’ve seen uncut gems

Does anyone wanna join me for a Valentine’s Day double bill of Jihad Jane and Sonic the Hedgehog

Its v bleak so brace yourself

I loved the film but apparently they were just using that as placeholder music, and the director grew to love it and didn’t want to change it. Which is fair enough if they really think it works, but I agree that it just loses a lot from over familiarity

Cant wait for Parasite to come out so I can discuss why it might be the most overrated film in recent times

We have a spoiler thread, you can do it right now!

It got posted in last month’s thread, but I just watched the Fast & Furious 9 trailer and it is completely stupid and I absolutely love it.
