I genuinely like hearing your thoughts but this is basically a guarantee I’ll love it

Thanks!

I think it depends on tolerance for style over substance. It’s shot very well and does have a dreamy quality to it but I found it to be completely dull. The story is almost non-existent , infuriatingly so

Did you see Selah and the Spades from … last year? Thought that was a pretty good atmospheric woozy coming of age one too, though had its flaws too

I did yeah, I quite liked it at the time but it didn’t stay with me too much - although that seems like Crank in terms of action compared to this

Malcolm and Marie - Quite SHOUTY and claustrophobic but thought it was decent.

Just one in a seemingly endless number of amusing Seagal tales.

My favourite is the story of Seagal claiming during the making of ‘Out For Justice’ that no man could choke him out. Martial arts legend Gene Lebell was also working on the film (around 60 at the time) and offered to test Seagals claim. Seagal tales up the offer and not only is he choked out, he literally shits himself.

If anyone ever makes a biopic of that guy it’s gonna be comedy gold.

Won’t start a new thread but which are the best JCVD and Seagal films?

Best Van Damme: Timecop.
Although JCVD: The Movie was a stunning self aware film I wasn’t expecting. That was brilliant.

Best Seagal: Under Siege (obviously).
I think I saw a film where he’s fat, wearing a leather trench coat where he shoots vampires in a warehouse. That was exceptionally shit.

Ever seen Steven Seagal: Lawman. A crap tv series which follows him as he’s an actual sheriff.

I still haven’t heard any of his music. I’m tempted to listen tonight. I’ve drunk a few tonight but not drunk enough. I’ll save that for a particularly bad night.

Van Damme: Universal Solider
Seagal: Above the Law

just btw Framing Britney Spears isn’t worth it if you already have even a small knowledge of #FreeBritney. Thought from the Twitter hype it would really be insightful and reveal a lot of stuff but like 80% is recapping her whole career which everybody knows about anyway and then it just kind of sums up really quickly what #FreeBritney is about at the end. I honestly learned more from like 2 minute clips on socials, not worth it.

I’ve not had the pleasure, seen all his early films but think I checked out after that eco action film he did with Michael Caine. Not heard his music either but when I was in a band we had a picture of him playing acoustic guitar in our wall. Didn’t he have the largest collection of guitars in the world at one point?

I just remember discovering that on his fan forum everyone referred to him as ‘Sensei’. What a fucking chump.

JCVD - Bloodsport (a ‘true’ story based on the life of Frank Dux, possibly an even bigger bullshitter than Seagal)

Seagal - Under Siege

This shit.

It’s worse than it looks and Seagal is definitely photoshopped in that picture.
