No. Haven’t heard of any of those.

I’ll put them on the list. Cheers.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 is the guy from Bone Tomahawk’s follow up film. Must warn you though, it does star Vince Vaughn

I really enjoyed Bone Tomahawk. Hopefully there’s a few scenes of Vince Vaughn being punched up.

Didn’t mine him too much in Fighting With My Family although he was a supporting actor in that one.

Vince Vaughan is fucking amazing in it!

It is basically the exact same storyline as Avengement tbh, as is Shot Caller iirc, but they’re great fun (if you think ultraviolence is fun)

avengement is incredible! what a great film! absolutely loved it whenever it was I saw it, can’t believe I’d forgotten about it

Yeah, it’s my favourite of his.

Both Debt Collector films on Netflix are great buddy action film. Jesse V Johnson directed those and Avengement too. Him and Adkins seem to work together with excellent fight scenes.

I’m tempted for a Jesse V Johnson film on Amazon called The Package starring Steve Austin and Dolph Lungren tonight with a drink. I’m expecting shit and anything slightly better would make pleasant surprising viewing.

Craig Fairbrass who was in Avengement had a surprisingly excellent film out last year called Villain.

The stills and pictures of it when you Google it makes it look shit. It’s actually a far sombre and reflective London gangster film rather than just blokes with cockney accents calling each other c**ts.

A sort of hidden gem and easy to dismiss without a look in

yeah villain does sound like it might be pretty interesting, will have to remember to keep an eye for it!

Sometimes though

is all you need!

Watched Chinatown last night which was a film I’ve long wanted to watch and I wasn’t disappointed.

yeah this was up there with The Exorcist and The Wicker Man for classics I (finally) watched over lockdown that totally lived up to their reputation

I’ve been working back and watching some of the films I missed before I started going to Cube Club in 2017 (20th Century flicks at Cube in Bristol for any Bristol posters) which has been a fertile source of great films.

Gonna work my way through the BFI greatest films ever now, so I can officially become a cinephile/film snob

The sequel is surprisingly decent too

Yeah I was aware there was a sequel, but didn’t realise until today that there had been plans for a third film.

Nor did I!

The Two Jakes is worth checking out, obviously not a patch on Chinatown but I think the muted response it had is due to people comparing the two. If you take it on its own its a really enjoyable, solid film

Was not expecting The Blue Brothers to be two-and-a-half-hours long.

Wouldn’t be much of a mission from God if it took 30 minutes.

For those that enjoy Scott Adkins films there’s one called Legacy Of Lies out on Netflix tomorrow.

There’s my late night film tomorrow sorted.

funniest thing about Scott Adkins is that he doesn’t really even try to put on a cockney accent in Avengement, he basically resembles Partridge for most of it. I’d only seen him Ip Man 4 and Universal Soldier DoR before this so wasn’t even really sure where he was from, did not have Sutton Coldfield on the list ha.

will definitely be watching Legacy Of Lies this weekend.

oh! and he has a pretty good fight scene in Doctor Strange which I rewatched over the weekend actually.
