Yes I do

Newhaven - Dieppe and lots of the little ferries journeys @plasticniki mentioned

Car has a real holiday feel to it and I quite like the smell of the car decks, but walking a bike onto a ferry is great

Once had a proper meltdown when I was around 4 in the on ship cinema because I found sleeping beauty scary.

And used to spend far too much time and money on time crisis

Don’t think I’ve ever been on a hydrofoil but they look cool as fuck

as a kid i also got a ferry across Strangford Lough and one across the Shannon. both short and enjoyable

I liked this but also was way too hot on board imho

Went to see Bryan Ferry once at Westonbirt Arboretum with my pal who’s a huge fan. He was pretty good, shame he’s such a dick. There were a lot of very aggressively passionate middle-aged women at the front who all knew each other from previous gigs and they had some sort of long-established hierarchy. That’s all I’ve got. Oh, I once watched the film Lost In Space starring Matt LeBlanc on a ferry to Ireland.

Rubodach-Colintraive is a pleasingly brief crossing

I feel very sick when I’m on ferries.

Not had much ferry experience though. Been on the Jonathan Swift a number of times but not many outside that route.

Went from Busan, Korea to Fukuoka, Japan by ferry, takes a good few hours and I was KNACKERED, could barely keep my eyes open, but there were loads of signs everywhere saying ‘watch out, there’s shitloads of whales in these waters, you’ll probably see loads of them mate’ so I forced myself to stay awake for the entire journey.

Didn’t see any whales.

Last time on the Jonathan Swift me and my 86 year old Nan watched The Lego Movie together. She kept turning to me and saying ‘jaysus jack this is mad. Talking Lego! Are you able?’

Belfast - Cairnryan is a good ferry

Loved going on this ferry as a kid.

This one too.

Big fan of the Valentia Island ferry, which I was on last year.

Tobermory - Kilchoan. Sat outside, views over to Ben Hiant, complete remoteness at the other end. Lovely.

Best trip was probably a day off work I had a few years back. Went up Goatfell in Arran in perfect weather, came back on the ferry with a beautiful sunset, drank a few beers, dolphins jumping in the wake… Then some jet skiers turned up and made use of the waves out back, some old Glasgow ladies started singing songs, then a tiny kid whipped out a set of bagpipes and started playing. Lovely.

Do you like ferries?
Yes

Favourite routes? Companies?
I’m a big fan of cross harbour ferries, just the 2 minute crossing jobbies. But also like a longer one. The Southampton to Cowes one I remember being good

Prefer to ferry by car or foot?
By foot generally.

Any good ferry anecdotes?
I don’t think I have anything particularly exciting, except to brag about locations in which I have ferried, which I’m not going to do.

Can even talk about Bryan Ferry if you like.
I would like. I really like the cover of Johnny and Mary he did with Todd Terje.

Oh actually last time I went on a ferry, just a couple of months ago (Dover-Dunkirk) my phone connected to some kind of weird maritime network and charged me something like £20 to go on the internet for TWO minutes! Twats.

Never have I ever been on a ship.

Got close to booking a trip to the Isle of White, but decided (probably correctly) it wasn’t worth the time, effort and money.

Associate them with being unbelievably knackered
