Fever Dreams

Rolling about’s no good, Theo.

I needed a number to stand firm. Rolling about all over the shop wasn’t no good to me.

got quite nasty flu and am on antibiotics so my dreams have been pretty feverish. had one the other night that the wife had pulled a knife on a guy who gave her some grief. woke up in a proper sweat.

I had a similar one about an endless alabaster bar in deep space.

That’s bar as in “girder” rather than “pub”.

Yeah. I’ve only had flu once and I will never use its name in vain again. Dreams were very odd. Mostly to do with the walls bending round me like I was inside a flower. Not a nice flower though.

Had one of those fever dreams where you are kind of awake but kind of having a weird dream at the same time. I was convinced I’d somehow signed a bit of paper that gave ownership of my left arm to North Korea, and I was very worried that they’d probably never give it back.

Stoned dreams are also very weird.

I have condensed the two most boring things to talk about (weed an dreams) into one nice, easy to ignore post.

You might as well tell us what you’re having for tea now.

Vegetarian fish finger sandwich. Bonus dull points for specifying that it’s vegetarian.

Didn’t want to bring up boring drug dreams but after Saturday I had a dream of me making my own bed RADICAL

Wondering if this was some new fake fish thing like Veganegg?

used to dream every day about being at work. was horrible, then i would wake up relieved that i wasn’t at work, but annoyed that i now had to go to work for real. think it was an anxiety thing cos the job was stressing me out. will probably happen all over again soon

Solid shiny black. I’m using alabaster as a point of reference; it may have been a material unknown to humanity.

Yeah I had those. I’d work a 12 hour shift, go to bed, dream about work, wake up and do another 12 hour shift. Good times

Isn’t alabaster traditionally white?

Yeah, someone in that book definitely ends up on a platform in space.

But two things:

  1. I had this dream a full decade before I read The House of Leaves
  2. The space in The House of Leaves is a fathomless black void, but this was, you know, SPACE - with stars and swirly purpleness and stuff

And @1101010, you’re right, it is. What material am I thinking of? Jet?
