The bar shuts, but the item shop is open all night

Tell ya what this game needs: a first person look around mode sort of thing. No tactical reason, just to get a better look at vistas and shit

On chapter 14, probably finish it tonight

It has been wicked aside for a few chapters that lost me a bit with too many fucking puzzles and rubbish side quests

Other than that I have been properly engaged with it

I’m on chapter 14 too, I hear from a friend tho that Shinra hq is quite long so goood luck finishing tonight.

I’ve had a change of heart on it again. I really like it and I accept that it’s a different thing to OG FF7. I’m looking forward discussions about the ending on here.

When I originally found it out I went through some very weird emotions

the tv’s glowing review ‘it’s not as bad as i thought it’d be but it’s not the original. the voice acting is annoying and it’s too easy, they don’t ever let you go in the wrong direction even for 5 seconds without course correcting you’

always thought the game was a pure rpg, not an action rpg, tbh.

Why do you use your powers for evil?

Really curious about this ending stuff. As I say, I really enjoy the game at this point (less so still with the dementors)

I am glad Heidegger’s ghah ha ha ha remains.

I really disliked the original and only made it a couple of hours in. FF9 was the first JRPG I played and by the time I got round to 7 one of the problems was that it looked too dated.

So far I think the remake is real good. In complete contrast to when I played the original - this looks amazing. Sometimes hard to believe that games look like this now. Really like the score as well, even though I’m not usually keen on orchestral soundtracks.

Sort-of-unrelated: what I’m finding the strangest of all is that my PS4 is silent when this is playing. It’s so quiet I’m actually a little concerned. Especially as Doom Eternal made it sound like it was about to take flight then explode.

I like, with the soundtrack, that it’s not just a case of “yeah, let’s take these tunes and slap a load of big sheen on them”. There’s been, to my mind anyway, more thought in how theyve been arranged and how those arrangements are used.

Mine sounds like it’s going to explode

Mine’s silent too. Because I don’t have one :sob: :

Find it odd you found it dated. My gf played it for the first time in 2013 and loved it. I don’t think I beat it properly until 2011 too. Think its simplicity actually makes it kinda timeless

But their hands!

I’d probably be able to play it now (and I think I might do after I finish the remake), but when I was 11 the way it looked was very offputting.
