We could arrange to watch the second one if that would help with the outrage?
Mine literally just has the word sea in the title, I think you’re grand.
@whiterussian just checking to make sure, is this for 9pm UK time?
That’s why I questioned when I saw it, wasn’t sure if wr put it on Norway time or if the plan is actually to start later
No, 8pm UK time! Whoopsie.
Forgot it was polling day today, SORRY. What a shambles.
Here is the poll, at long last. Please vote for the film you would most like to watch with the film club, Poll closes at 6pm UK time tomorrow ie. Wednesday, and then at 8pm we watch the winner film.
- In the Heart of the Sea (only rental on Amazon for UKers)
- The Reef
- K19 – The Widowmaker
- By the Sea
- The Bounty
- I want to be in the DM live chat because I am cool like that
Only one vote?
Yup, I’ve (almost) always done it this way. Can reconsider for next instalment if people prefer having more votes:
- One vote is fine unless there’s A LOT of options
- We should always have 2 or 3 votes
- One vote each no matter what
In your absence we’ve always had 2 I think.
Imagine a Norwegian picking a film about whaling!!!
Pretty sad to know the greatest* sea based films aren’t on Netflix, TBH. Where are
Pirates of the Caribbean
Deep Blue Sea
The Poseidon Adventure
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (it’s all about Moby-Dick and using space like the sea!)
The Hunt for Red October
*okay, okay, aside from Jaws it’s tenuous, yeah.
Jaws was on there for ages must have come off recently.
and i think to myself
water wonderful world
Waterworld isn’t on norway netflix tbh. Hook is though
The Reef is actually in with a shout here, so just wanted to add an expanded recommendation - it’s a really tense, realistic shark film, seriously impressive, underrated gem. All real shark footage too!
This is SO TENSE, gonna do a new poll for the top 3 in an hour!!!
Tricknip sold me on Waterworld with this:
How can you not want to watch that!
