Pretty much this.
I’ve watched The Raid 3 times now and i know I’ll enjoy it whenever I stick it on. Yeah it’s a very basic premise but I’m not sure it’s possible to do that type of film any better. Thought the sequel was good but have no urge to rewatch it, a little flabby round the edges.
The director also did a horror film on Netflix called ‘Apostle’ starting Dan Stevens, Michael Sheen, and Jamie from ‘The Thick Of It’ which is very good. In it’s own way it’s probably more full-on than The Raid. Recommended.
