The Incredibles <3

this thread is really reminding me how confusing it is that I despise Fight Club and Eternal Sunshine given that people with otherwise very similar film taste seem to love them both

not even like i just dislike them, absolutely couldn’t stand either film and had to force myself to watch through to the end

The sting, absolute belter

I think there’s a few films that when I first saw them thought ‘that was one of my favourite films ever’ but if I watched now I probably wouldn’t really like. I included Fight Club even though I’m afraid this might be the case - left out Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine, Gran Torino for that reason. Saw you mentioned High Fidelity, I rewatched that recently and really didn’t like it as much as I used to. Forgot how much of an irredeemable cunt he is (I know that’s kind of the point)

Fave films : Stumble on tv half way in and watch till the end. Always.

A few of those could just as well have been any number of other films that I love and keep coming back to, but some of them are definite All Time Favs that must be included at the exclusion of other films. And I’m sure I will have forgotten something really important because off the top of my head.

Don’t really care for Fight Club by why did you hate eternal sunshine?

I feel the same about Lost in Translation. As a rule I tend not to like films where an old, miserable guy is irresistible to a beautiful young woman anyway, but there’s a lot of other reasons I can’t stand it and I don’t get what people like about it
