Yeah xpro is really hit and miss, you can either get amazing colours or a sludgy mess. The slide films I’ve had best luck with are Fuji Astia (that no-where seems to sell- it’s supposed to be a subtle, neutral, tasteful portrait film in E6 but goes an amazing green in C41) and Kodak Ektachrome which goes bright blue and yellow. I’ve seen people getting great results with Fuji Velvia on the internet, but mine have never come out good with that film, like the whole picture is one big green or orange mess.

I can’t remember exactly what film I used but I wouldn’t describe it as either ‘amazing colours’ or a ‘sludgy mess’, it was somewhere in the middle.

Yeah sometimes stuff just comes out really red/orange and grainy, and there’s not a lot you can do. Just luck of the draw/lucking into the right combo of film and lighting conditions.

I use an old olympus compact camera sometimes. it seems fine, dunno what else to tell you

Got a NIkon FE2 which is my fav.
mainly just muck around with double exposures. started doing the old develop in a bag trick and scanning (my mate has a pretty decent nikon film scanner - think they go for quite a fair bit) which I find quite fun. I’ve only used HP5 and Acros 100 so far.

Also recently got an Olympus Pen F which is great for just shoving in a bag - because of the half frames I find I fret less about if a picture is ‘worth taking’.

have a million rolls of 120mm that I need to develop but never get around to it.

I carry a contax t2 around with me for that sort of everyday stuff

Because of my backlog I’ve pretty much stopped using my mamiya rb67 so the last time i used it and got anything developed is about a year ago and I’ve not got any pictures of anything interesting bleh.

HP5 is my go to. I always push it one stop in processing too to get slightly higher contrast. I’m not such a fan of FP4. When I see other people’s work with it, it’s this lovely smooth effect, but I’ve only ever got dingy results with it. Maybe because I’m used to exposing for HP5.

I got some of that Fomapan stuff really cheap, but I was disappointed with it. When I loaded it onto the developing reel in the dark bag, the emulsion was all sticky and literally came off all over my hands and I never got to develop it.

The M645 is bad enough for lugging around. I couldn’t face taking an RB67 about. I’d feel like one of those victorian photographers with a hood and pan full of flash powder.

While sorting through loads of crap that was stored in my grandparent’s garage I finally found a folder full of loads of negatives from like 2003-2009, which I want to scan, but know will take me forever.

I have the smaller camera on the right, and it’s a beast that weighs nearly 2kg.

Massively into it I use a Nikon F2. A great camera its pretty heavy but way more practical then the one in the op (which is a beaut by the way)

Very similar era to my Pentax. Best viewfinder ever, and satisfying clunk noise when you advance the film.

Double exposure or glass reflection?

Photo from Palma de Mallorca I took with the Pentax ME super and some HP5 that I pushed one or two stops in processing (probably two stops).

Was done on a moving train. So a bit of a reflection but most of distortion was created by the speed of the thing.

Yes I need to get into developing the photos myself. Its just a question of finding the time.

But I enjoy messing around with double exposures though. I like using to to put a messy ambient layer on top of a fairly standard photograph. Or just bleach out the image in general. I do more standard stuff as well but I have a lot of fun just playing. This is an example:

Similar train view about 10 years ago. But in the less glamourous environment of Bracknell. Olympus XA2 + Fuji Astia film cross-processed. I only took this one to use up the end of the film.
