i have fond memories of it but it is legit terrible. ended up watching this on a youtube oddysey the other night:

They have steampunk hydraulic foot braces to help them jump higher! I simply cannot love a film that thinks like that.

me either mate hurr hurr

A Cinderella Story - 11% RT

I don’t understand your comment but it looks like you’re now mocking me. Never mind.

I also like how the Mario film’s been immortalised on the cover of Endtroducing. There’s probably a thinkpiece about that out there somewhere.

fucking hell mate, lighten up. read your sentence again.

Lighten up? We’re talking about the Mario Bros film! I mentioned its appearance on Endtroducing and joked about how there’s probably a thinkpiece somewhere out there!

Honestly. Sometimes I feel like communication is 100% non-verbal.

yeah it’s good

Ha ha, I know what you mean! Jules et Jim is such and obvious choice, preferring as I do other, more obscure (quick google to make sure I’m correct) Truffaut.

you know how we were talking about Truffaut earlier?

François Roland Truffaut born… 1932, died… 1984. yeah.

Sorry, I meant ‘rosie and jim: the movie’ (tarkovsky). Always get them confused.

Just remembered Die Hard 4.0 / Live Free and Die Hard is one I did REALLY like but which I think everyone else seems to hate.

I liked it more than Die Hard 2. Not sure if I liked it more than DHWAV, they’ve both got their negatives.

I know a lot of people like to cite the ‘ridiculous’ things in DH4: car into helicopter, John on the top of a Harrier jump jet. And to be honest I just wonder if they’ve even watched the previous three films: there’s a bit in DHWAV where he rides a dumper truck on a wave of water and then pops up off the top through a manhole and the original film includes the world’s most conveniently huge air con system and a really useful set of physics around falling fire hoses.

I like it. Might be my 2nd favourite tbh (never liked 3 as much as everyone else seems to, 2 is prettty bad and lets pretend 5 didnt happen).
