i always think this film is secretly brilliant, and if it’s on i’ll watch it and remember that no, it’s really bad.

I feel Collateral is my answer for this but I’d need clarification from the hive mind

Shanghai Knights. I’ve never even seen the first one, pretty sure I wouldn’t like it though

Collateral is a great film

The Rush Hour films too.

Oh man, that dream sequence!

Carey’s performance is easily up there with the rest of his output! And there are so many quotable and hilarious scenes.

Carry On Films. All of them.

You’re joining a long list of haters! What’s so bad about it?

not sure i could put my finger on it. the jefferson airplane bit and the duel are funny, the rest just falls really flat like they just misjudged the tone or something idk.

I think at the time people were expecting it to be another hilarious Jim Carrey jaunt. But obviously it’s much darker than that. Maybe it falls flat for some because it’s still strange to see Jim Carrey being…strange?

are you mental? wicky wicky wild wild west is one of the worst things to ever happen on film

Yeah this ^

More often than not it falls into uncomfortable rather than hilarious territory. I only find myself cracking up because I’ve seen it so many times.

was in a convo one time about how shit ‘foudn footage’ or whatever is and someone sent me a link to OMG TEH BEST JAPENESE FOUDN HORRROR FILM EVERRRRRRRRRRR!!! called ‘ghost video’. still aint watched it though, you seen it?

Skyfall
It has a pretty daft plot, even for a James Bond film and Daniel Craig is fairly wooden. But I love it

I think the first Paranormal Activity is decent. I mean it’s film designed to creep you out and, even though you’re sitting there thinking how completely preposterous it all is, it still succeeds at that basic requirement.

You mean the critically acclaimed Skyfall - 93% on Rotten Tomatoes?

Aye - the very same

It’s better than anything that’s ever been released under the Marvel/DC banner.

(Not suggesting that you have a particular fondness for superhero films. Just saying that, as blockbusters go, I’d choose Wicky Wicky Wild Wild West over The Dark Knight any day.)

Twister. I know it’s a bad film, I can’t defend it but I just really enjoy it. Pretty sure the fact that Bill Paxton’s in it is part if the reason I like it.

Also Event Horizon. I know it’s not great but I love it, always happy to watch again if it’s on.
