The cars went so fast in that one!

I actually thought there weren’t enough fast cars. I saw it at the IMAX hoping id get to feel like the driver but there was all this boring stuff about a man and a job or something, ruined it

I saw it at the IMAX as well! Took my young nephew who is unfortunately into cars and F1 these days, he said it was his favourite film he’s ever seen but also rolled his eyes a lot at my questions about “were some of those real drivers?” etc

Think I’ve only seen 5 from this year so:

Great, loved it
Pillion
The Ballad of Wallis Island

Pretty good
Companion

Shit
Chicken Town
Mickey 17

Parent life means I’ve only watched 15 and a 1/2 films this calendar year, mostly at the cinema, so list is a very poor reflection of the year:

Top 5

  1. 28 Years Later
  2. Sinners
  3. One Battle After Another
  4. Bugonia
  5. Avatar: Fire and Ash

Movie moments of the year:

Sinners - Music through time

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning - The submarine dive

Final Destination Bloodlines - The tower disaster

28 Years Later - a new addition to The Bone Temple (best moment of the year for me)

One Battle After Another - a few small beers

Avatar: Fire and Ash - the attack on the caravan

Bugonia - the last 5 minutes

Shoutout to the first half of the Brutalist which I loved, but had to leave in the intermission.

Never going to watch the second half and just assume nothing bad happens.

I’d say skip it, but the film does appear to have a few fans here, definitely changes things up a little in the second half and I liked the music in the epilogue.

The music over the credits threw me.

Yeah me too and the diagonal credits. I just liked the 80s synth versions of the score, nice change after 3 hrs of film.
