More awkward, maybe? I think that (a) people are generally more openly nice on here than in person and (b) I guess it’s easier to hide flaws in your appearance in a photo than in person?

Not that I think people on here are being insincere - says more about my own self-doubts than anything!

I dunno, I guess it’s easier to vet a photo of yourself to find one you’re (relatively) happy with vs actually having to go about your life looking how you actually look or something

But I mean, I can accept someone looking at a photo I’ve considered acceptable enough to look at and them going “You look nice” a lot more than I could accept someone looking at actual me and going “You look nice” so it makes the latter scenario more difficult to take at face value?
