Fish and Chips: A Rolling Critique Thread

I’m happy to lay down the gauntlet to any challengers

Steered well clear of all that foreign muck tbh

Saw some in Costa Rica but decided it was never going to be any good so declined. My furthest away fnc was Bozeman, Montana. 8/10.

Gonna be having fish and chips at the ol’ rents sunday

Nah, that does sound good though!

Medium haddock extra large chips. £7.80 in Blackpool

Side of bread and butter out of shot

It was a 10/10 for me. Everything was absolutely fantastic

Those chips look almost like fries - not sure about that.

Looks alright but you lose points for the terrible photo orientation

Not sure why that happened. And the chips were pretty chunky, there were just a lot of them

Looks good, would happily eat with some mushy peas and about five more packets of tartar

Love the way the haddock is too much for the frame, like it just goes on forever :fish:

Had this at lunch time

Chips were a bit too firm/dry for my liking, like em when they’re a bit soggy from the chippy. Fish was fresh out of the fryer - batter was nice and crispy.

Genuinely one of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time

Where?

Looks good but would need to see the chips to make a full assessment.

Plentiful and decent. Half way between a wedge and a chip. Crushed minted peas. Plenty of sauce. Wedge of lemon.
