i’ve started a new gym routine and the DOMS is real
Obviously I’ve tried to up the amount of cycling I do over the last two or three years, not really to do with fitness primarily but just to have something to do that isn’t fundamentally unhealthy.
But earlier this week I had a really strange thought when I was walking round the local small park (which is practically outside my front door). I thought: maybe I should take up running/jogging especially in winter when cycling can be less fun and harder (maybe) to get motivated for.
Still pondering this, but wondering if this might suck me into a hole and turn me into one of those people who does parkruns or even worse marathons by stealth.
Hmm.
Runners always look like they’re having much less fun than cyclists too I guess
not necessarily a bad thing!!! (she says, i really haven’t managed to get on with running when i’ve tried, but i like lifting weights and doing pilates and riding bikes so that’s fine)
Nah I don’t want to be that person
scored 7 (SEVEN) goals last night
(have been playing an hour of 4 a side indoor footy on friday evenings since the start of august. starting to get better at it and enjoying it lots)
Late push to beat my total, is it?
just finding my feet for now but next year you better watch out
have a fairly respectable 2 goals per game rate in scotland for 2023
Ignore
Week 38
5 cycles
7 FitOn workouts inc one stretch
Kept up leaving house streak
walked more than 5K most days (except Sunday when I got 2/3 of the way to Tesco and had to come home cos of bad ppain)
This week won’t be as active as I’m on but I’m going to try to pick it back up later in the week when I feel better
Ah, ta.
This really resonates with me. It’s so easy to not do it or even just to accidentally not do it, isn’t it, and every time I force myself to go for a quick walk round the park late in the day it improves my mood vastly.
Not here to kink-shame, but are you posting in the right thread here? [Ahahahahhahahhaaaa]
also what does DOMS stand for?
Delayed onset muscle soreness
I think it actually came from a lifting class I do rather than my gym sessions - last week it wasn’t the regular person running it and I think he made us work a bit harder! Only just stopped aching from it
Games: 54
Goals: 115
I don’t feel like I played especially well but they all count.
For a variety of reasons (NLD, LFF, WSL, train/tube strikes, shortage of players, etc) I haven’t played as much football as usual, and won’t be playing many games (if any) for the next two weeks either. Well ahead on the goalscoring front though. And the swimming continues unabated.
Current stats
Football games played: 114 (target = 150)
Results: W 54 D 11 L 49
Goals scored: 125 (target = 114)
Swimming distance: 110.5k (target = 135k)
