Got a little devil of a bar routine going right now. I encourage you to destroy yourself with it.

Take a 10 or 20kg bar depending on how strong you are.

Then supersets, reps of anything between 5 or 10 depending how much you can manage.

Military press
Military press behind the head
Barbell row
Good-mornings
Barbell curl, close grip
Barbell curl, wider grip
Move I don’t know the name of. (Rest one end of bar on ground in front of you. Hold other end in two hands in front of you. Twist to one side, bringing the bar in, push back out to centre, twist to the other side. That counts as ‘1’)

Then do this superset twice more with a 90 second break.

I have now added a bonus 10kg to the bar and motherfucker, muscles are firing

Really dislike good mornings.

I did a good one the other day in a class: gorilla row. Felt amazing.

Yeah they’re the worst but I am spending a hell of a lot of time on that and rows to make sure my old man back is okay. Especially because the military press is a bit savage for the lower back so you need the extra work

Week 16

:x: 1 cycle
:x: no FO
:x: no stretch
:white_check_mark: Kept up leaving the house streak

Been feeling pretty rubbish and have had no energy. This week has been similarly inactive, so I hope next week I can get my motivation back :crossed_fingers:t2:

kettle bell exercises are fun!

Give them a try if you have a kettle bell lying around at home

have felt pretty okay lately, sports-wise, even if I am very low otherwise

also I just saw my legs (in my nice new running shoes that I’m using to walk around in) reflected in a bus stop advert screen thing, and they looked really defined, like someone who is athletic or something

Just signed up for the Leeds 10k on a whim

It’ll be my first 10k in a couple of years and the first that I’m planning to run/walk rather than run nonstop. I’m setting my ego aside and planning on taking as many breaks and water stops as I need but secretly I’d also like to do it in under 1.5 hours. My usual parkrun time is about 40 mins atm so I think with some training that should be doable.

I also bought a Saturday day ticket to Outbreak the day before and depending on the timings I may not get back home long before 1am so that’s kinda counting against me but I really wanted to see Sunny Day Real Estate

Week 17

:x: 1x 20 min cycle
:x: 1 FO no stretch
:white_check_mark: Kept up leaving the house streak

Finally came on 20 days late on Wednesday so another meh week.

anyone ever get upset stomachs during/after exercise? I used to when I went running, but haven’t had it happen in a while until tonight

Games: 21
Goals: 26

First game in three weeks and I did a decent amount of running, even if my passing and control were nothing special.

One scuffed shot lead to a goal; another well-placed half volley was the other.

Yes, especially if I try and eat during, or immediately after exercise.

It’s because your body prioritises your cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems at the expense of your digestive system when you exercise. It’s why your stomach can feel cold even after a run on a warm day, as the blood is shifted elsewhere.

this all rings a bell

it happened + has always happened without me eating during or after, mind - like, I never have time to eat, I just get back and have that precipitous feeling in my gut

I say this as I’m wondering how to avoid it in future
