They did have a bit of a revival, a couple of years ago, in London at least.
It’s even crossed over into big budget movies, with Henry Cavill sporting one in the Argylle trailer
Fan of the big combs with spirit levels in them
Tried to cultivate one at school during the 80s, couldn’t really maintain the shape despite experimenting fairly extensively with various very sticky hair products
There’s a guy who I often see at goth nights Her Indoors takes me to that has one like this. He’s also about 6 foot 4, rail thin, and wears loads and loads of chains round his neck and wrists and hanging off his pants. He also looks dead miserable all the time, very goth. I don’t know why but the sight of him makes me laugh, I just find him funny, even though nothing about him is funny at all. I’m glad he’s one of the few goths she doesn’t know enough to exchange pleasantries with because I don’t think I could hold it together. Somebody told me he’s Dutch, which again made me laugh even tho there’s nothing funny about it.
