First series was prob more innovative etc, but the second was definitely funnier.

Yeah, can’t argue with that!

I didn’t spot this at all! In fact at first I didn’t like the ‘twist’ because I preferred thinking of the character more favourably in spite of herself. But then I realised later that the whole point (which again I hadn’t realised properly) that a defining point of her character was that she was a sex addict so then I was like “ah this now all makes perfect sense - this is incredible television”.

I’m just not that bright really.

I didn’t see it coming either, but I am absolutely useless at predicting endings / spotting the obvious bad guy etc.

That’s a clear no from me

is she a sex addict or is she just a not very nice person?

I think a disturbed person, not dealing well with her with grief and her prickly sibling and father relationships, who used sex as a crutch/ to fill a void (OOER) and was so selfish she didn’t care who she might hurt.

The Boo character is/was an annoying twat though.

I think she would define herself as one hence the scene at the end of the first series with Hugh Dennis’s character in the café. It’s not that clear cut, but I think in the stage show (that the sitcom came out of) the whole sex addict thing was a lot more central to the character. I dunno - someone on here would’ve definitely seen the original show above a pub 5 years ago or something so maybe they could confirm.

Well plus there’s that scene in series 1 where she says she’s not obsessed with sex then describes a whole list of things that are consistent with her actually being obsessed with sex.

Yeah I don’t remember a lot of the specific detail of S1. Perhaps a rewatch is in order.

The gold bust was about twice the size in S2

  • No it wasn’t
  • Yes it was, or at least bigger

I saw the show at Edinburgh and yes, it was a lot more obviously sex-focused but it did end with her making the connection between wanting a shag and emotionally just wanting someone there/to feel needed even just for a moment. They angled it a bit more towards the Boo/grief thing in the TV show.

Tina Fey interviews PWB for GQ (featuring some smoking hot pics :open_mouth:)…

Got a warning on my iPad that S2 is being deleted from the iPlayer on Monday, so binge watched it last night. Loved it. Agree that S2 is funnier than S1.

Just started watching this… on series one episode two and it’s brilliant.

Anybody been to see the stage play yet? Got tickets for tomorrow and kind of curious of the stage/running time, supposed to start at 7.30 and be there at 7.
