Food halls

“I’m Jordan and I’ve been abroad”

Bring my own hot sauce probably.

That I will share with my comrades obviously

Agreed. Never really got the hype of Time Out Lisbon.
Free toilets though.

Well the rotating cast of food carts across the road do reasonably well on the 3 nights a week that cafe is open past 6 so surely the area can sustain 10-15 permanent food stalls?

There are reportedly a lot of ‘young professionals’ moving here from Cardiff but I think somebody is massively overestimating how much cash they’ve got to spend on bao on a consistent basis.

What did you find more cycnical about Mackie mayor compared to platform out of interest?

The hype is that people always mix up “everything here is good because being on holiday is great” with “everything here is good”

I got hideous food poisoning from here but ate so many things that I don’t know what thing made me sick.

Yeah I liked it (before getting ill) but I didn’t really get the OMG IT’S AMAZING vibe.
It seemed a bit devoid of any character when Lisbon has quite a bit of character to it.

And it is just a massive great big advert.

Seeing as everyone seems to have been to Lisbon - what did we all think of LX? It was hipster x daddy’s rich x yar, I’m in to street art personified.

It was…fine.

Tbh, that’s all I saw of Lisbon other than the inside of a toilet bowl for 3 days. I only had one custard tart!!

Really enjoyed the ones I’ve been to in Leeds when visiting friends, seems like something sorely lacking in Edinburgh

Instead we specialise in high-end restaurants in spaces that would be too small to count as a bedroom.

I thought it would be a bit more cool but it was just a bit tacky and not much “art”.

That’s exactly what I thought it would be. That’s why I went.

That’s why I liked it daft lad

I like craft beer and being snippy about bellends. It’s like saying you shouldn’t go and see the Sagrada Familia because you aren’t religious.

Did you go here;

This was more like just a few bars and a load of tacky shops, bit of graffiti over there, something going on in that corner etc. It’s not really a food place I don’t think.

From what I’ve heard :pinching_hand: :salt: …one of the places in Newcastle has three month rents so workers are completely at the whims of the business owners and whoever owns the site.

Cant win though can they? Those 3 months agreements are an absolute lifeline for ambitious, entrepreneurial new business who otherwise would have to sign up to 5 year leases, with big rents and rates and risk bankrupting themselves to start a business.
