Foods you'd never have thought of eating in years gone by but now love

In Pret they do two delicious breakfast/pudding things.

One is this mango smoothie and banana breakfast bowl

And one is peanut butter, acai puree and granola

Both legit.

I used to really hate cucumbers. Thought they were slimy, weird, tasteless little green bastards and i had no time for them. Even became vegetarian at the age of 14, eating lots of vegetables I was unused to but I still didn’t want anything to do with them. But anyway a few years later i started to like them and they are now in my top 3 vegetables, i really love them. Some favourites:

  • Cucumbers cut into slices with philidelphia on top
  • Cucumber slices, zatar and lemon juice
  • Cucumber slices and soy sauce
  • Cucumber slices and any random vinagarette (a nice one i made during blackberry season had blackberries)
  • Cucumber slices in water with mint and lime

:cucumber: :green_heart: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :green_heart: :cucumber:

Olives, capers, anchovies. Naturally intensely salty things I disliked when I was younger but I favour savoury foods as I have gotten older and their charm has grown on me.

Nutty ice cream

Hazelnut, pistachio (green ice cream wtf?!)

They’re good now

Went a very very long time not eating Anchovies because the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles didn’t like them but they are now my go-to pizza topping

Spam. Fried on a butty with shit bread, mayo and ketchup. Absolutely filthy love it.

Fried up Spam, potato waffles and beans is my go-to dinner if I need majorly cheering up.

had spam for the first time ever just last month, sliced and fried on top of some ramen

good shit tbh

Olives

Tinned tuna. I remember being given a tuna sandwich round a mate’s house when I was about 13 and thinking it was absolutely disgusting filth. I took a big gulp of fizzy drink with each mouthful to hide the taste, rather than just tell my mate’s mum I didn’t like it.

Cabbage. Bang into cabbage these days, like an old person from days of yore
